In MOUSE, players assume the role of mice navigating through a maze. Each player controls a mouse trying to find cheese scattered throughout the maze while avoiding being caught by the computer-controlled cat. The maze changes with each game, providing different paths and challenges. Players move their mice one space at a time in any direction except diagonally. Cheese locations are revealed gradually, encouraging exploration. If a mouse lands on a space occupied by cheese, it collects the cheese and earns points. However, if a mouse lands on a space where the cat is, that mouse is caught and eliminated from the game. The game continues until all cheese is collected or time runs out, with the player having the most points declared the winner.
